Surf Ninjas

It's Surf-tember here on the remake.

We're kicking off our Surftember Spectacularby bringing in Eric Braband to talk about the 1993 film/Game Gear advertisement, Surf Ninjas. Josiah amps up the surfing karate, Rob plays with the idea of a child narrator, and Eric pitches a movie that is much darker than you would imagine.

Point Break

Surf-tember continues on the Remake, when Kellen Terrett drops by to talk about Point Break, a movie that has it all: surfing, bank robbing, and the acting of Keanu Reeves. Rob pitches a retro-remake, Josiah substitutes surfing for parkour, and Kellen recasts the film with an unlikely star.

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial

Some podcasts talk about movies. On Remake, we talk about how to make them better.

Matt Castellvi joins the guys to remake the Steven Spielberg classic, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Rob ditches the psychic bond while Josiah plays it up. Then Matt describes an (almost certainly NC-17) masterpiece.

The Big Green

Some podcasts talk about movies. On Remake, we talk about how to make them better.

Josiah and Rob are joined by Mary Beth Smith from the podcast MBSing to talk about 1995's kids soccer film, The Big Green. Rob and Josiah take on the concept of the "Teacher's Exchange Program," while Mary Beth imbues her remake with a depth of plot and character lacking in the original.
