The Village

This week Katie Dufresne joins the Remake crew to put a new twist on M. Night Shaymalan's tale of intrigue and stilted dialogue, The Village. Josiah remakes it two ways, Rob adds some twists, and Katie explores the ramifications of what happens after the big reveal.

Follow Katie @KatieDufresne on Twitter and catch her Off-Broadway in Blank!, running at the New World Stages.

  • I love that you guys chose to review a movie 10 years after it came out. And, of course, adding Katie Dufresne into anything can only make things better. I watched "The Village" with a friend who, right after it ended, exclaimed, "That's it!?!? THAT'S what I'm supposed to be afraid of??? A retard in a suit?!?!?" After shitting myself laughing for 10 minutes, I looked at him with the intention of beginning an in-depth conversation about what we had just watched, realized I'd get nowhere as he has the intellectual capacity of a gypsy moth, and gave up. It was great to finally hear a dialogue around this movie with all its high points and flaws discussed in a casual and jovial manner yet still offering a smart take on remake ideas. I enjoyed this and am now curious what movie you'll talk about next.
